Abstract

The Journal of Engineering and Emerging Technologies (JEET) has just released its inaugural issue. The progression of this issue has greatly astonished me. The Editorial Team encountered challenges gathering the research for this journal's Volume 1, Issue 1: December 2022. How we came up with every piece for this issue is beyond my expectations. We established JEET as a top-notch, open-access, and international peer-reviewed journal to publish original research papers in engineering and technology, including civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronics engineering, computer science and engineering, information systems, and technologies. The journal covers multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary engineering and technology education, management, and development studies. As we showcased the first issue, we offer innovative-driven research, including the study titled “Concealed Automated Trash Bin with Shredder for Solid Wastes,” authored by Christopher P. Pante, Edison A. Villamer, Marvin T. Agrade, Marlon Jay A. Delustre, Renato T. Embestro, Via Claire S. Mamano, Rhoderick F. Oliveros, Eddie L. Cabaltera, and Victor-Solito DR. Isaac, “Edge Detection Techniques for Rice Grain Quality Analysis using Image Processing Techniques” by Myrtel Bernardo, “Visualization and Geo-Mapping of Philippines Fire Incidents” authored by Joseph Jessie S. Oñate, “Development of Artificial Intelligence Algorithm for Smart Irrigation Using Internet of Things (IoT)” written by Myrtel Bernardo, Jermyn Evangelista, Shiela Marie Gatchalian, and Rael Tejada, “Suitability Mapping of Solar Energy Potential of Selected Areas in Camarines Sur using ArcGIS” by Rizza T. Loquias, Nikki Ann P. Palima, Mary Valerie B. Juanillas, Lenard N. Magno, Karen S. Compuesto, Andrea M. Zagada, Victor Solito DR. Isaac, Keith Marlon R. Tabal and yours truly. If applied and put into effect, the advancement of this research would undoubtedly bring about change on a global scale. We intend to make everything work out to the best of our ability through our commitment to research and engagement with various partners. The Center for Research and Development has taken an oath to be a core for innovation under the guidance of the Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges. Welcome to the first issue of the Journal of Engineering and Emerging Technologies (JEET).
