Abstract

Handloom industry of Bangladesh had a glorious past, serving an unpleasant present and going to the state of blurry future due to a lot of factors including both internal and external factors that are initially acting behind the progress. The main purpose of this paper is to explore the opportunities and various challenges are being faced by women entrepreneurs who are working in the handloom industry so that governments and policymakers can take proper initiative to address this issue. This study has chosen a qualitative data inquires and selecting two districts at Jamalpur Narsingdi. Purposive sampling techniques have been used in this study and selecting ten respondents who have joined the women entrepreneur on handloom industries at the study areas. The study show that a lot of financial, social, financial, educational and instructional problems have been faced by women entrepreneur who have recently joined the entrepreneur of handloom industry. However, addressing the financial, social, and educational barriers they are facing is crucial to fostering sustainable growth and success in this sector. Also, continued support from the government, NGOs, and the private sector will be essential to unlocking their full potential.
